The Energy Behind Athomic Wellness
Behind every movement, there is energy.
Athomic Wellness was born from this simple idea. In the human body, ATP is the main “energy currency” used by our cells, playing an essential role in muscle contraction and in supporting the body’s activity.
The name Athomic also echoes the atom—not through its destructive image, but as a symbol of matter, energy and our desire to understand what lies beneath the surface. In Geneva, this idea has a particular resonance with CERN, where particles are accelerated and collided to explore the fundamental laws of the Universe.
Observe, understand, then act. This scientific curiosity is deeply rooted in the identity of Athomic Wellness.
Understand Before You Train
An exercise is never just an exercise.
Behind every movement are support, breathing, mobility, coordination, strength and balance. Understanding how these elements interact allows us to go far beyond simply reproducing a movement.
My approach is therefore less about imposing one “correct” way to move and more about understanding what each individual truly needs. Observe, test, analyse and adjust are all part of the process.
Training then becomes something alive: a progression built around the individual, rather than a standard programme the individual is expected to fit into.
Expertise Built Through Experience
Knowledge gives direction; experience gives it meaning.
My journey has always revolved around sport, movement and the desire to understand what truly allows people to progress. My studies in sports science, with a focus on physical conditioning, mental preparation and return-to-sport, gave me an important foundation.
But it is above all the daily experience of coaching, session after session and person after person, that has shaped the way I work. This practice continues to evolve through ongoing education in physical conditioning, cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation, DNS, the de Gasquet method, and different approaches to posture, breathing and strength training.
The human body is far too complex to believe that one day there will be nothing left to learn.
Methods, Never Dogma
The method should serve the person, never the other way around.
Every course and every new approach adds tools, new ways of observing and sometimes new questions. But I do not believe in applying one method to everyone.
A technique may be highly relevant in one situation and much less appropriate in another. Every person comes with their own history, body, abilities, limitations and goals.
My role is therefore to select, combine and adapt the tools that make sense at a given moment. Physical preparation becomes a genuine toolbox, used with judgement rather than as a collection of formulas to be repeated systematically.
The ability to adapt is what makes coaching truly individual.
The Human Element
Physical training begins with listening.
A programme can be perfectly designed on paper and still no longer be the right session on the day it is meant to be performed. A poor night’s sleep, a stressful day at work, pain, low energy or apprehension can completely change what is appropriate in that moment.
Being able to listen to this information and change what was originally planned is an essential part of my work.
Beyond technical knowledge, the human relationship is probably one of the most important parts of coaching. Understanding the person behind the athlete or client often allows the training to become more precise, more appropriate and ultimately more effective.
Listen, Adapt, Progress
Body and mind are never trained separately.
The mental and psychological dimension plays a central role in the way I coach. Motivation, confidence, perception of effort, body image, fear of injury or failure, and the ability to remain consistent all have a profound influence on progress.
Sometimes coaching means encouraging someone to go a little further. At other times, it means slowing down, simplifying, reassuring or rebuilding confidence.
Perhaps this is where the idea behind Athomic makes the most sense: understanding the individual elements, but above all understanding how they interact. Between body and mind, training and recovery, goals and the realities of everyday life.
Adaptation is not a compromise on progress. It is part of progress.
Start by Understanding
Every journey begins with a clearer understanding of where you are starting from.
Whether your goal is to regain fitness, improve mobility, protect your health, develop your physical abilities or prepare for a sporting objective, the Athomic Wellness approach begins with listening, observation and identifying your priorities.
It is not only about knowing where you want to go, but understanding where you are starting from and what can genuinely help you move forward.
That is precisely the purpose of the Athomic Express Assessment: a first overview of your training, recovery, sleep and nutrition.
